I thought you would find these Lexus interesting... especially the sedans... The company does have some good looking conversions overall. I enquired about the $$$, warranty, decibel levels, leaks, time of completion, etc. today and I'll post that info for all of you BALLER$$ once they email me back...
The site is www.newportconvertible.com
What you think about their conversions??? The Lexus vehicles are on the last page of their gallery...

Yes Ikon,most of those cars in the galleries were interesting to look at. I love the Jaguar Type S.
I wonder how the newer Lexus Models would look like with the conversion?

E...
I like the styling of the S-type and the CL Mercedes in the converted form... Of course they are not our beloved Lexus, but let's give props when it's due...
I was however surprised at the look of the LS/GS with the top down, they are definitely boulevard cruisers...

yes Ikon,i love the look of the lexus models,but i know it would cost a fortune to do the conversion, so i guess the moonroof on our Lexus's would be good enough.

I know of these guys.....theyve been around for a long time....great work ( Doc goodens car, I think Grant Hill had one by them also) DEEP POCKETS ARE A MUST!!!
The conversion on the Legend coupe is $11,000 and that was over 5 years ago...maybe longer.
but its all power including the hard cover boot!!! Very nice

Very sexy to do a conversion...expecially on a classic like the SC400. But what about protection from flipping over? Don't stock convertibles have anti roll or something, a reinforcement that pops up in the event of a rollover?
A conversion is just fantasy to me (I'm lucky to own a '93 SC400, paid for!!!) but interesting nonetheless.
Thanks!
Jeff

I was thinking the exact thing since checking into this. It not only would be safer but also look better I think. About 11 - 12 K is what Ive heard from California, my friend had it done there but it took 4 months!!!!

I think that all 3 lexuses look like crap in covertable form. Especially the LS, after the conversion it looks like one of those 1960's cars that were made to drive on the road and be a boat in the water (just with a nicer paint job
)
