Default Is this trim removeable?

Car - 93 SC400

Guys,

I am trying to fill a large gap in the center console. The stock stereo was replaced with a regular aftermarket so I now have a huge gap to fill. I am custom making a piece to go in there, but my problem is attaching it. I will be making a lip to screw it to.

However, my question is this. The pieces of trim that run along either side of the center console - are they removeable so I can screw in the new piece?? Make sense?? Let me know if pictures would help!!

Thank you

Jonny

Not sure what you mean. If you replaced the deck you know that the piece that surrounds the stereo etc, and runs down and around the shifter and cupholder is removable pretty easily, don't know why you would need to take off any more than that to put in your cover piece. If you are talking about the plastic that stands vertically next to the shifter etc. then I don't know.

I actually mean the part of trim that touches the carpet and runs up the side of the stereo/climate control.

you could remove it but its going to be a pain in the rear. i'ved tried to do it once, but then i realized if it was going to be a pain out it was going to be a pain putting it back in. why dont you just make a lip/bracket and then have it run to the metal mounts holding the deck in place. i think that will be your easier route, since there are several more holes that are not used. just my 2 cents.

Like I said you shouldn't need to get that trim off. If you do get it off let us know how and how long it took. I am really thinking about trying to change my interior colors and would need to get them off to color them.
