Convert SC sidemarkers to turn signals?
So I'm bored and I want to convert turn signals on the side of my car. Since the sidemarkers serve almost absolutely no purpose, I was thinking of converting it to turn signals. All I'd need to do cut the sidemarker wires and wire a relay from the turn signals to the sidemarkers. Anyone think this is a good look for the SCs?

Hmm, that's more of a German look but lemme see...hmm...if done right it could look cool, as long as the blinker blinks slowly and not like it's on steroids. I think it may look aiight...you gonna give it a shot Thang?

That sounds kinda cool, I'm still trying to figure out how to intepret intellual.net's tutorial on how to change the signal lamps on a 92-94 to fog lamps but I guess your years ahead of me when it comes to electrical.

I have this done. I think it looks much cleaner at night so you dont have the nasty amber glow all the time (for the street legal guys) or the cops on you (for the clear "offroad use only" bulbs guys)
I also had this done back in the day with the supra and all i got was compliments for being "different" and "innovative"
Thang:
Sorry bro...beat you to it

Pole Position
For mine I did the following:
The stock turn signal is a dual filament 1157 when it's just a turn signal. Why did Toyota do this? The plug has provisions for 3 wires but the harness only has 2 (turn). Is anyone else's like this? Or was mine rewired for some reason? Accident perhaps...? Only 1157 sockets lying around?
Anyway I pulled a clip from a spare harness I had, removed the 3rd blank plug on the turn signal socket and inserted it to give parking signal to the second filament in the turn signal bulb. I then soldered that lead to the parking light lead from the parking light in the headlight (the one in the tube).
Essentially I relocated the parking light from the headlight, to the turn signal. Why? Because I painted the headlight bezel gunmetal and it renders that little light useless in there if there's no chrome to throw the light around. Does not look factory anymore. Relocating it fixes that. I will then shave the bumper light off the bumper when I go into the bodyshop for some work. Cheaper and cleaner than those damn million dollar clear bumper lenses.
Also, the amber light next to the BMW bi-xenon HID projector looks pretty damn tough. Japanese flavor. Almost S2000ish. The turn signal works like stock. It looks just like in the pic, but gets brighter when flashing.
