But the funny thing is, there are also a lot more SCs with ultra high mileages compare to other makes and models.
For example, you do not see many other cars made within the last 10 years that go over 120k. The SCs, on the other hand, seem to have a great deal number of owners who had logged more than 150k miles on them.

I believe it, but you would also have to consider how often it was driven. If it was driven once a week or even once a month, the car would still be in good shape(mechanically). But, if the car were to be storaged for a long period ( for instance a year or more) which for some reason people do, there would be rust issues and other mechanical problems. I almost bought one of these. A 92 SC400 with 95,000 miles on it. I checked the car fax and between 2000 and 2003, the miles didn't even change. So, I didn't get it. I would suggest for anyone considering purchasing a vehicle like this, to utilize the car fax report before making any type of decisions.

Yeah, and like a tool I didn't even run a carfax report on my car until about a year after I had it. Glad everything checked out. No accidents, no flood damage, no accidents, just a clean SC that was driven about 12k a year by a lady in Newport Beach....and garaged always of course, the paint is in great shape.

Just remember...a car which is driven around town only a couple miles a day is not necessarly better than one that has been driven a hundred miles to work and back each day, given that both cars were maintained regularly. At startup (before the oil gets circulating), the first couple of miles (when the car is not fully warm), and stop and go driving (obvious) is when the most wear and tear is put on the engine.

Well said.
Perhaps the SCs are just one the most driven luxury cars out there. It's hard for me to see too many luxury cars produced back in 92 or 93 that have logged more than 150k as consistently as the SCs do.

Jon, I have 181k and counting. Got the car when it had 126k, but it was so damn clean when I saw it that the mileage didn't matter, because I knew it was a cared for vehicle. Everyone who has seen my car thinks it's newer than '92, I may be able to fool them even more if I cleaned it really well! Soft Scrub project this weekend!
