Chin Air Dam
Don't know if that is the correct name for the black strip below the nose of a 92. Mine got biffed by the chains during a flatbed tow due to electrical failure.
Lexus says $400 for a new one. Sounds kind of steep. Checked salvage options, nadda. Any ideas on where to get a replacement at a reasonable price?

I had to replace the front spoiler/air dam on my wife's car when about a year old and it was expensive. Someone can get you a better price. Just a heads up - it is a painted piece, not just black plastic. The good news for that is that it stays black and has a slight sheen for years, as opposed to an unpainted piece.

You know that same peace on my 92 has a few scratches that bother the HELL out of me. Is it safe to repaint the thing? Take it to a body shop or just do it your self since it's so small.
What kind of paint would that take? also what about clear coat?

Since my had to be painted when I replaced it, the body shop knew exactly how to paint it and what type of paint. It was not clear coated. Suggest you go to a body shop and ask. I think you could smooth it down with fine sandpaper, prime it and repaint, probably cheaper than the $400 for a new one.
