Just above the temp.gauge and next to the speedo gauge there's a little amber light coming on.It looks like a car with something coming out of the rear end like exhaust. It's not on all the time but seems to be coming on more and more.
I am wondering if this might be a cat or muffler warning light.Anyone seen this before? 92 SC400.

I think what you're describing is the indicator that tells you that a bulb is burned out in the rear lights. From what I've experienced, that includes brake lights, turn signals and the third brake light in the rear window. It may also include the backup lights, but I don't know for sure. The curious thing about this indicator is that it only activates when the burned out bulb is used but doesn't draw current. For instance, if it's your left turn signal, the indicator won't light until you use your left turn signal. It resets when you shut down the car. That can help you find out which bulb it is. Mine was the third brake light. The indicator wouldn't come on until I hit the brakes.

Thanks,I will check that out.I checked the tail lights and they were fine so it must be a turn signal or brake light. Come to think of iot,it has to be a turn signal because I can drive for a while before it comes on.

My comment was directed towards hwallen172, who wasn't sure if it included backup lights.
According to his experience, it also works for the turn signals.
