Default Wanting a SC, few general questions.

I was originally wanting a SC300/5speed with the intention of modding, but after a reconsideration of how much money I want to spend...I will probally Just go with an unmodded Sc400, 92-95(and black).

I have a few questions I hope you guys can answer, then I'll go back to lurking until I actually get a car.

First, I know the obvious engine difference between the 300/400, but what were differences in Standard options? Also is there a list anywhere that tells what all available options were.

I'm also kind of curious if I have two 5' 10" passengers, one in right seat, and one behind him, how pleased/pissed at me will the guy in the back be at me for getting this car.(I will either way though)

Also where are good places to try to find these cars, online or not. Never looked online for a car before..I'm finding some cars on autotrader.com and cars.com, but wondering what other good ways are.
I'm in central california, and a local car would be great, but I guess I'm looking for anything between LA, SF and Sacramento.

Thanks for any help/answers.

5 speed does not come with traction control....
(off the top of my head)

SC400 had spoiler, bigger front brakes and rotors.....

All of the other stuff came optional like Nakamichi stereo, integrated phone and traction control...

Sat behind of many SC's....The back seats can surpisingly comfortably sit to adults....Even with one passenager in front and one directly behind him or her....It is stil pretty comfortable...

Obvious places are the best to look for cars.....Cars.com, Autotrader.com, your local newspaper, and eBay.com

Easier to get bigger performance from the 3 litre, turbo or twin turbo is a reality. A twin turbo 1-UZ (4 litre) has been done, but i think there are only a couple of examples in the world. Supercharger is a option if you have the bucks (BIG bucks) but still there is more potential with hybrid turbos, there is simply more room to bolt stuff on in the 3 litre.

Don't get me wrong the 4 litres are awesome, I got an UZZ31 GT-L (JDM) and would never go straight six, I just love the engine too much. But both are great cars! You won't be dissapointed either way.

Good luck!

Good luck

Hmm, another question...I'm in CA, If I get an out of state car do I have to worry about anything besides registration, is emissions an issue at all?

Emissions is a big issue in CA....Make sure there is no sign of exhaust problems or your gonna run into some trouble...

Cal seems pretty tough on motorists, no problems running without cats in the UK (taking mine off soon). Should give a nice HP gain?

Hi again....Found an ad for a '95 400...it says the color is "Ice blue" that's probally not the actual paint name, but I'm wondering if anyone knows what that would be, and if anyone has a picture that would be great.

Thanks.

If it is truly oem color (which I would check), then he's probably talking about platinum silver...

Is this "Teal Mist Metallic"(new color in 95)? Maybe that's what the ad called ice blue.
