Default New to the Board!

Just wanted to say hey to everyone... I'm looking forward to getting a sc300 and then going all out with it, I'm a high performance mechanic (or just a regular grease monkey who knows too much, either way) when I'm not playing somewhere, and I like new and interesting projects. I thought it would be nice to see what all this Supra fuss is about, my friend has a Mark III with a 1jz just installed, but I was thinking more mark 4ish.... HA! Everyone here must know the price range by now, where a Lexus can be affordable, especially one thats older and you plan on swapping half the stuff out of it anyways... A mark 4 supra would cost me as much as a brand new 350z! Thats rediculous, I don't have that money to waste. Besides, lexii are just PIMP. Right? What Viper out there expects some guy in a buisness suit, driving a lexus, to smoke him? I'd say none.

Of course, I'd like to get a good background on these cars, I have several questions and I know how senior members of these boards get tired of the same crap, so if you could point me in the right direction, I'd be more than happy to learn on my own. Some questions were:

Whats different between 300 models besides the vvti in later versions?
What's the deal on modified 400 cars? Seems like a v8 would be nice, but maybe the block can't handle as much power as the 2jz? Maybe the 400 is too complicated to modify, not to mention scarce parts?
Whats the best way and the easiest/cheapest way to get a 300 turbocharged? I'd like to know both. I'm guessing swapping in a Twin Turbo Mk4 engine and tranny would be a pain... Or what about the 1jz engine from stock japanese soarers... All that good stuff.

Well I'll be searching around the site trying to bone up, but you guys seem to be pretty grounded, better than joining some ricer kid board! Thanks for any help!

As always, you can find answers to all your questions here. http://www.intellexual.net/ The SC300 has an infinite amount of more potential than the SC400 because it shares its engine with the Supra and its boost friendly. The SC400 has no affordable forced induction solution as of yet.

OLT,

The Lextech site seems to say you guys are in Harrison, Tn; where is that in relation to the Nashville area? I live in Hendersonville myself, in Sumner county just north of Nashville. Anyways, good to hear from everyone!

Hey guys, as you may have noticed, my site has been down for the last three or four days. You may have also heard that CmputerWiz has recently passed on . Well Steven was hosting my site and due to the tragic circumstances, I've had to move my site to a new host to get it back up. Intellexual.net shoud be back online in 24 hours, but I'm still trying to learn how to configure my new admin tools (!). Sorry for the inconvinience.

And to get back on topic, welcome to the board Musician. Keep us posted on your turbo project (with pics and vids ) and be sure to check in with the turbo coupe registry .
