Default NEW Paint What Color?

Well i decided i would keep the sc4, cant part with it just yet , plus ill come back bigger and stronger this time.

Ok currently its gold , but my car will most likely be resprayed , i dont care too much for the calue going down i plan on keeping it for quite a while longer.

Here are the choices
1.Indigo Blue Pearl ( SC430)
2.Le Mans Sunset (copper 350z color) i think it might be too flashy
3. White pearl of some sort any suggestions would be appreciated
4. Charcoal Grey
5. A different shade of Gold , or a golden mettalic or a golden pearl if they have one

Guys if you have any suggestions please let me know the name of the paint and which manufacturer caries it

If i tell my bodyshop guy to add some xtra metal flakes will it make it more sparkling?

I also want him to put at least 4 coats of clear or is that too much?

Any other things i can ask my bodyshop guy to do to make this cars paint well more "DAMN" ?

If anyone of these questions sounds NEWB blame it on the guy who rearended me

Oh im either buying an inspection kit or staying with the vertex, and lets not forget the chromies but thats all later on.

DL, if you're serious about this then the new color I've seen that I like A LOT is the new "Daytona Blue" from Nissan featured on the '05 350Z. I saw it a few days ago for the 2nd time and it's beautiful. I couldn't stop looking at it because that blue was almost like a candy paint job. That's the color I'd pick

As far as more metal flake...my suggestion would be no, leave the paint as is from the factory.

As for coats of clear, I'm not sure. Ask Din, he seems to be the resident paint expert here on CL. I have read about cars having up to 8 coats of clear so 4 shouldn't be too much, I know there's also a thicker clear coat available than what most people use but you'd have to research that to be certain.

And as for kits, I like the AC kit the best, if I HAD to have a kit on my car that is.

Would you consider the Flint Mica color (LS430) charcoal grey? That is my favorite Lexus color behind Royal Sapphire Pearl. RSP would be cool and unique on a pre 97 SC. So my votes are for RSP or Flint Mica.

go chrome!

actually, i agree w/ jet, i think rsp would be tight, i know there's one somewhere, and it looks damn good. it's a pretty loud color, but it's not cheesy loud like you see on a lot of ricers, it's a nice, sophisticated look that'll turn heads.

i think flint mica is an easier color to maintain than RSP. swirl marks become a hassle in the long run.

RSP looks way cool!!! My sc400 color is pretty much the same color as the cooper orange( or something like that) as the 350z and it gets alot of attention. My car really stands out from the crowd and I get alot of attention. I've gotten alot of complement from alot of people so far. The color is what caught my attention when I first saw the(my) sc400 sitting in the dealers lot. I've always wanted an sc400 so I went to check it out and ended up buying it. If you like to drive fast, I wouldn't recommend this color, but if your a slow driver like me and like attention, then go for it. But the RSP looks really nice too....I would sleep on it if I were you!!

I'd say black. Black is a timeless classy color.

If you paint it something flashy, make sure you have some speed to back up what the paint has to say.
