Default any canadian SC300's?

i know that we only got the sc400 up here and im totally down with them, however they only came in automatic, which i will never drive... so my plan has been to try and find an older sc3 5spd from the states and bring it up to friggin canada, eh. i was just wondering if theres anyone else here that has done/attempted this? it looks like a major pain in the *** to go through with all the importing stuff, but well worth it casue i love these cars.

Very rare indeed...but its not that big of a deal to import it...I have been watching and lurking for a year now....waiting for a 97 sc silver on black leather with low miles to show up.....Here are a few links to help you out ..but really its not more than 150 bucks at the border for fees then all you do is pay GST. You should call ahead and make an "appointment" with the border ...they like that. AS well there are some papers you will need...If anyone has actually went through the process let me know how it went..all I have is the text book example of how to do it...

Well I just imported my 92 sc300 5-speed close to 2 months ago. It is a bit of work, but if you are prepared for it not such a big deal.
Be prepared for lots of fees and such. At the border you have to pay a $182 fee, which includes the price of your federal inspection that must be done within 45 days of the car entering Canada.
There is also a $100 fee if the car has air conditioning. Then you have to pay GST, plus another 6.1% for duty on top of this. All these fees must be paid at the border, or you can't bring the car into Canada. Also I had to pay PST when the car was registered. Plus the fee for getting the car provincially inspected.
You have to add day time running lights, and proper child safety restraints to pass the federal inspection.... blah blah blah... There was lots more I had to go through.

One important thing to remember, is to fax ahead of time the bill of sale, and title of the car to the border crossing you are going to be using. This should speed things up a little. I was only at the crossing for about 30mins, but I also attribute that to it being 4am, and there were no other cars around.

If there are any specific questions let me know.

So fellow Canadians, where in Canada are you? (most threads indicate BC)

I'm just outside Toronto.......

As for the SC300 comments, all your work is for a manual transmission right? As I see plenty of SC300’s around.

Let's see some pics of these new rides

SC300's would be nice to have since they didn't come in Canada, but I think finding a Canadian 97sc400 would be more of a prize, not a big deal in the states but in Canada, oh so rare.

I have an SC300 5 speed in Windsor Canada, actually 2 of them, one working and the other smashed up.. lool. Its not hard to import them. First one was from florida, second form New Jersey.

Before going to border.
1. Recall letter from Lexus
2. Ownership in your name.
3. you must go to US customs here its at detroit bridge, you give them your title and they tell you to come bak in a few days so that you have export clearance for teh vehicle (this step is optional) but its free and its better to do.

At the border.
1. Bring alot of money or credit card
2. The taxes babay
a.)GST
b.) duty 182.00
c.) ac tax.

**make sure you hustle teh customs officer about teh value of the car, teh problem in there book they have no SC300's so tell them its similar in price to an SC300, claim its the same engine, they will believe you.

3. Fill out the forms.
4. Drive out

In Canada:
1. Wait for letter in mail from RIV.
2. Go buy DRL module form Canadian Tire do it yourself 15 mins, just wire it staright from the battery.
3. Take to Canadian Tire present recall letter, and RIV form, do emmissions if you need to and safety,
4. After you pass you get stcker from mail. that says ur car conforms to canadian standards
5. Take off the DRL's and your done.

Tryk Racing covered all the other stuff, that i forgot to mention.

Destroer if you want buy an auto sc300 at a good price and i have the clutch assembly, that i still didnt sell.

Goodluk with your search.

I am in S'toon, SK. I bought my car in Sonora, CA. On ebay actually! I figured this was the best way for me to find a car. I just had to wait until I found a nice sc300, with a seller with a good feedback rating. I ended up flying down and driving the car home.
My buddy and I made it from Sacramento to Saskatoon in 24 hours and 10 minutes. lol. That has to be some sort of record.

No Pics?

I pick my 92 up locally almost 4 years ago off a used car lot, this impulse buy brought some heat from the wife.

My 92 is up on Jack Stands today getting the lowering kit (springs/shocks) installed.

Yesterday I did a complete brakeline bleed/flush and transmission flush replacing the filter.

Oh yeah, and oil change.....

Friend borrowed it, crashed it into a house. If you do a search in the lexus forumn you will see pictures of the car smashed up. It was bad.

But the new one is under the knife will look sick in 2 weeks or so, new body kit and paint job.
