My wife was hit from behind last night on her way home from the office (police arrived, she's not at fault and information was swapped amongst the parties). She's a little sore, but overall she's doing fine. The SC has damage to the back end. Scrapes, dents, and the trunk area has some damage to it. Probably about $3000 in damage is what I am going to estimate. My question to you all is this: We have already submitted the claim to Farmer's and they have offered three "preferred" body shops. I know of a great place that Lexus of Austin refers business to, but I know they are going to be much more expensive. Does that make any difference in the claim? Also, we only plan to keep this car for another year or so, would you all use the "preferred" body shops or the body shop that the dealer refers its business and does immaculate work?

You have the right to choose whichever body shop you want. Since it's on the insurance company's dime I'd go for the best shop you can find. There is nothing worse then a great car subjected to less than stellar body work.

was the body shop that was recommeded to you by Lexus of Austin "NOVA" ?? If so, the place is not bad at all price wise and the work is good.
