I have to agree that any rim can bend. I already bent my SSR GT3 rim and had to buy a replacement. I've also bent many other high quality name brand 3 piece forged type rims as well. I've bent 15, 16, 17, 18, and 19" rims. I have never used 20" rims yet so at least I haven't bent those yet If you hit a pot hole at 60 MPH on the freeway more than likely any rim will bend.

OK I'm gonna get flamed for this but I've got the ADR Sterlings on my Soarer, I've never had a problem with them. Yes I did buy them when I was at college, and no I couldn't find another set of wheels (was looking for 17" Supra wheels/tyres but there were none at the time)... they don't look too bad on a Soarer...

Default much better....

Now see, this is much better. And just to reiterate I wasn't singling out anyone, you all know I appreciate opinions from all angles. It's just that whenever I read a post about a "knock-off rim" or something along those lines I never hear concrete examples from people saying "I personally bent this type of rim and I refuse to buy another one from this manufacturer." I don't want new members to get pulled into that ideology that they MUST buy rims in a certain price range, but rather buy rims that they can afford. All your cars are looking nice fellas, keep up the good work

(BTW, my next post will be the magical number 1000!, and I don't post up crap just to get a high post count either, these were ALL genuine posts! hooray!....ok, now I'm over it )

So if you're not trying to spend 2 G's you shouldn't buy rims?

That's weird, I spent considerably less than that for my 19's...CONSIDERABLY...

Keep in mind not everyone has the same financial status and that a lot of the people on CL are basically kids (17-20). I know when I was that age I didn't have 2 G's to spend on wheels, heck my whole car was probably worth 2 G's. I have the cash now to get some "nice" wheels but I won't, I can enjoy the money in other ways and my car is STILL nice. There's nothing wrong with a stock car, there's nothing wrong with buying inexpensive rims, and there's nothing wrong with buying expensive rims. It's a personal preference. The only rule that shold apply is "buy with taste" regardless of price. I'll tell you this much, when I do decide to sell my rims I know I'll recoup at least 90% of my investment so for me that's a win win situation. For those of you who want $2k rims go for it, for those of you who can't afford them find something you can afford that looks nice

Afterall, most people get rims for looks right?

I personally have the ARD sterling's on my car in the 19's. I got them with tires for about 1900. If you want to take a look at my car, go to cardomain.com, and mine is entitled "My midnight mica SC400 with a full body kit sitting on chrome 19s"

tommy420: check the photoshop thread where i made a copy of this thread.

Darden was good enough to chop the wheels on to your car.

So you got some cheap wheels what's your point? You can get 20s for a grand does that mean then are quality wheels? Just remember you get what you pay for.

i believe you get what you pay for most times....unless your getting a deal on a quality product, but as the old saying goes-" to each his/her own...
take time to pick your wheels, it will be worth the wait....(this is coming from someone who didn't believe in changing from a stock rim

Here's my 2 cents- THESE are doing just fine for me...... I've used Racing Hart C2's on my NSX, and actually, I like the ADR's better. The money I saved allowed me to afford those expen$ive Takakaira corners.....lol. The SC was purchased as a back-up/emergency vehicle for occassional use. I only budgeted $5k in upgrades, so I wasn't about to blow the wallet on wheels alone.
