Question no cd, no antenna, no mirrors, no clue!

Hi, I am new to this board, coming over from the SC 430 board. My son has saved up and purchased a 92 SC 400 (red) and we are having a strange problem. The CD player doesn't work, the Antenna doesn't move and the mirrors don't work. I have checked the fuse (its fine), and these are all on the same circuit.

Any ideas???

This may help if you haven't checked it yet.

For the radio, there are two fuses. The fuse box inside the car and one in the box in the engine compartment. Make sure those two aren't blown.

Good Luck!

Default no fuse prolem

The fuses seem fine. I changed the 7.5 for that circuit just in case. The radio works, but the antenna doesn't go up. The mirrors don't respond to the adjuster ****.

It would appear to be some sort of electrical problem, but if there is a short, wouldn't the fuse be blown?

Default in-operative o/s mirrors

The power mirror problem is unrelated to the antenna problem.
The mirrors are controlled by a computer under the dash.
Do a search on this subject as it has been discussed extensively.

ok check the connection of the mirrors...pop up the drivers side window switches and see if the plugs are pushed in and check the wires...ok antenna mast is stuck you can get a new one for about $40.00...ok and for the CD changer what is happening with that?

Default not sure they are not related...

I read the posts re the mirror ECU. I will check this and the wiring.

The CD changer was not playing correctly (some CDs wouldn't play) and then suddenly stopped. There is no response when I push the CD button on the dash. (This is a Nakamichi system).

When I checked the fuse listing in the manual, I was encouraged to see that there is one fuse for those exact three things - mirrors, antenna and CD changer.

Perhaps there is some problem with the mirror ECU which has shorted the circuit? But why is there no blown fuse??

Default no antenna noise

There is no noise coming from the antenna. It appears not to be getting power.

please note that the early SC's do not play burned CD's.

For that matter, the changer can be pretty tempermental even if the disc cleaner is used.

Good luck
