Question Peg holes from removed "SC300" emblem

I'm about to purchase a "Soarer" emblem and I was curious about the 3 existing peg holes from the "SC300" emblem. Does the "Soarer" emblem cover those holes, or how close to the holes does the emblem come? I'm just curious because I may try to fill the holes myself. If the emblem covers the holes pretty well, I'll do it myself. Thanks.

Wish I had the answer for you, because I was wondering the same thing. Hopefully somewhere here knows for sure.

Dozens of people with "Soarer" emblems, and no one knows?

It doesn't fit in perfectly... you sure you want the "soarer" in the spot that the "sc300" used to be? I got my "sc300" shaved and put the "soarer" above the right tail light... Looks better that way IMO..

These aren't the same either.. the best way to put the new emblems on is to break off the pegs, and put 3M double-sided tape in back of the emblems.. then get a razor blade and cut off all the extra tape that hangs off the sides.. then slap the emblem on.. over time.. the heat will melt the tape and it will be stuck on the car like glue...

EDITED: oh and i wanted to add, 3M double-sided tape worked better for me than the OEM tape that was already on the emblems. I used that at first and it fell off my car after a while.. so i put it back with the 3M and now its stuck on their real good.

I don't think I'm explaining it correctly. Right now my "SC300" emblem is above the right taillight. I don't want to try and put the peg holes from the "Soarer" emblem where the "SC300" embl***s holes used to be, I know that won't fit. But basically, I don't want to pay $100+ to have to shaved if I can do it myself. I was wondering if where you positioned the "Soarer" emblem (with the peg holes on the new emblem shaved off) covered where the old "SC300" peg holes used to be. Thanks.

Ohh.. you have a 97+ model? the "sc300" emblems are placed on the car differently from 97+ and pre-97's. In your case, no the pegs don't fit in perfectly, but the "soarer" emblem will surely cover up the holes, the best thing to do is cut off the pegs on the emblem and slap them on the car with double-sided tape. Hope that helps

It sure does help, thanks. I feel stupid now, I didn't even realize that the emblem was placed differently on the 96 and under years. It makes sense now.

Sorry for bringing back an old thread, but....

On pre 97 SC's where the SC300 logo is in between the taillights, does the emblem leave any holes when it is pulled off? I am thinking of just running the Lexus logo and the L. Anyone have any info, i know its been done. Thanks

Kevin

On the 97+ there is no pegs behind the sc300 emblem.
