Default Considering the idea of GS400 replacement to SC400

I guess my boredom with the SC400 is starting to set in. It's only a thought for now... but I am considering moving over to a GS400. I figure, I could make one of those dope, and may have a little more horsepower options.

any thoughts??

Depends on where you are in life man. If still single with no real responsibilities (kids, a wife, etc.) then stay with the SC. If you do need a little more space and such then make the move. As long as financially you can manage it and it's what you really like then go for it. Boredom is a ***** though and can make you do strange things. What will you do with the SC?

I'd sell the SC4 if I go the route of doing a GS4,... I don't like the idea of going to a 300 anything, unless it was a SC300 with turbos,...but money wise,... at least for now, I'm trying to be a lil more wiser, since i am a business owner....

if i keep the SC400,... I'm going to sooner or later, buy a SUV for my business, and the only one i really like is the LX470.

of course it'd have to be pearl white sittin' on chrome 22's.... chrome grills in front/back.

funny, this has been SERIOUSLY on my mind lately...but I am torn between the GS4xx and the 540i/M5.

You see, the problem here....I love both cars, I want to stay with Lexus, and I definitely do not want to do 300 unless I am going to FI it. Something tells me to just make my SC what I had in mind (blow it out)

It is bad for us when we want things we don't need

Nazty, why not make that 400 faster with some pully power?

I`m going to buy GS next year for my wife.
It is a great car. I do not think I would go for V8 with those gas prices, cause we both drive alot and she doesn`t really need it.

I'm getting a GS next year would like to get the NEW GS. However, if there is interruption with my finances I'll probably get '01 GS430.

I'll be KEEPING my SC3 forever.

I've been contemplating this too. Get a GS4 or turbo the 300 to solve my power needs.

My only gripe with the GS4 and one of the reasons I got my 300 is the lack of a manual tranny but that 300HP V8 more than makes up for it. The only area it really needs improvement in is the suspension. I've heard a lot of owners complain about a "floaty" feel on the highway, nothing a set Teins can't solve though.

Ideally, I'd have both but that's not realistic at this point.

Spooky. This is the exact choice I've been pondering. '02 GS 430, or an '00 M5. The GS430 always seems to come out on top. I love my SC, though, so the thought has changed from replacing it with a GS to supplementing it. Still have a little way to go, though.

G35 coupe
scrub!! that's every other car in houston...

however, it's a car i do like alot,... but i think that'd be a downgrade in every area except performance. I like the fact I don't hear my car driving.. I never knew how loud some cars were until after getting my SC400.

I'm really thinkin'.... SERIOUSLY THINKIN',... a business hooptie, and a NSX.... I would have already had an NSX if the one I found wasn't all the way in Maryland.... as opposed the coupe being bought in Alabama,.... and I still managed to get a ticket driving it back.

If boost ever happened for the SC,... I'd probably not even care.... but it doesn't seem that's gonna happen in this lifetime.

Well, whatever car you decide to get, both cars are still an excellent choice. I prefer the sc because I love coupes. Best of luck choosing!!

I own a SC400 and a GS300 and had to drive the GS for a month while my SC was being repainted. Other than the horse power difference from the 300 depending on if it's a GS 400 or 430, the GS is a super fun ride and handles really well, looks good, and is much more comfortable than the SC. If you intend to race it, I guess the 430 would be the one to get.

I really thought of selling my SC and having 2 GS's in the family, his and hers but the SC came back looking so good (red on tan), I'm on hold for it selling. Decisions, decisions......
