Wink

Has anyone succesfully bypass the factory amp and use the line level from the head unit? I have analyzed the stock pioneer amp and figured out the input/output schematic. A few leads however puzzle me, such as the 'BU' output lead? It looks like a common ground amp, any engine noise? I will post pics and schematics as I complete project.

What is your main purpose of bypassing the amp rather than running line level adapters?

Post THE HACK!

Well, it is done. I have succesfully utilized the inputs to the standard amp, the head unit remote turn on and got rid of that anoying stereo scan 'beep'. The inputs were converted to RCA and ran into a JL Audio 300/4 amp. The sound improvement is incredible!!!! The stock amp was removed. The speakers all were upgraded to Diamond Audio Hex. I did not want to mess with running new speaker wires to the doors, so I ran the amp output to those into the output wiring harness for the stock amp. Looks nice, will post pics this weekend.

Keep your beautiful head unit and upgrade the rest. I will also add a quality DSP or equalizer to tune the system.

That sounds great... Exactly what I was looking at doing. Only problem is the only processors that I've found to do time alignment are Pioneer EQs with crappy DSP and OP AMP chips, not high end... Previously had Sony ES stuff with alignment and it sounded wonderful. Can you post the wire outputs that you tapped? Also does your system have the stock Pioneer 12 disc changer and 10" woofer? I'm looking to install my four channel Adcom amp in the same fashion. I've always suspected that the speakers/amps were the weak link in these stock Lexus systems...
