$700 for coilovers sounds too good to pass up. I called prostreetonline to place an order. The guy says they don't make the tein basic's for the SC. Anyone know the part number of the basic's that fit an sc?

I got the cs because a luxury ride is most important to me. Second, I might as well get the best. Third, they don't make the basic for the sc, I don't like rigging things....plus the cs should be a better ride. I might wanna slam it sometimes just for the kicks. Lastly, I can tell others I got the best.
We'd be lying if we didn't admit there's some competitiveness in this thing. The ride is the main thing though. Besides, I got my money back on the eibachs. The tokico's are only 2 weeks old, I can sell em. I end up spending about $650 more. I can live with that.
I was gonna get a cold air intake anyway....that was my next surprise. Now, that will have to wait.

I'm not going to disagree with you...you're probably right. On the other hand, the sc3 and the sc4 share many characteristics but the springs I got that were made for the sc4 are not working well on my car. They work but not as well as the ones made for the car would.
I listened to different salesmen tell me the basics would fit but they weren't made for the sc....that there are some differences in the chassis between the supra and sc. If it were the same the part number would be the same. I'm not a mechanic but I know the two don't weigh the same, are different lengths, different heights, etc. I didn't mean rigging as in having to tear down to rebuild. I meant that basics weren't made for the sc...yet. I prefer to do it right if I'm going to do it. Doing it right in my definition is getting good stuff that was made with that car in mind. But that's me. No kock on anyone with an sc buying basics. None at all.

I do understand where your coming from though...

After seeing these last 2 posts I wanted to make sure I wasn't spending any unnecessary money. I checked the prostreetonline website for coilover fitments for both the sc and supra. For the tein cs, they are exactly the same spring rates and serial numbers. The site lists the cs as fitting the sc with 559 front and 336 rear. It works on whatever supra model that has the same numbers.
The basic's fit on supra's with spring rates of 783 f and 448 r. There is no listing for the sc for basic's.
However, if the spring rates for the sc are those listed above but those aren't the right numbers for the basic's it can't be a perfect match. That doesn't mean it won't work just not a perfect match. I don't do things like that. No knock on anyone who does. Besides, I'm sure everyone agrees the cs will probably provide the smoothest ride between the two. I'm sticking with the cs.
