I have a 92 sc400. The carpet piece on both doors are always soak when it rains or I get the car wash. Is this due to the window gaskets being bad and the water is getting inside from the window? I can not find any trace of water on the door gaskets except for where the door carpet hits the door.
Thanks to all
if that is the case then can they we replace easly and is there anywhere on line where to buy new seals?

I have been thinking about this problem. I have a 92 with 137,000 miles. I found water in the back foot well on the driver's side only. My car was on a slight hill at work. It rained hard for about 2 hours.
My door hinge has some play-grasp the bottom of the door and try to raise it up-if you can, the bearings need replaced or the hinge.
I took off my door panel and taped and caulked all openings. The problem still continues.
I am thinking that hinge isn't holding the door tight against the rubber seals.
The hinge on the passenger side is tight.
Try checking your door hinges.

Have you checked the condition of your service hole cover? It's the small clear plastic bag looking piece that seals the large hole in the door cavity with a black goop.
Make sure that's not leaking.

yeah were all having the same problem...i need to find where that leak is....but in my case it only gets in the door over a period of time....like it has to rain for 3 days straight then it seaps in the door panels...maybe i have a slow leak....

is their any water around the lateral side of the driver side footwell?
There is a rubber tube that diverts water under the roof liner up near the driver side/windshield. if that tube has come out of its connection the water travels down the interior. This happened to me a long time ago.

Try inspecting between the front glass and body for rust .If theres a gap it will channel down to the carpet by the kick panel.I had this problem and had to pop the front windshield out and fix the rust on my 92 Sc400...It might be one of the causes...

Although it doesn't initially make sense that your doors would get wet from a moonroof drain leak, that's what was happening to my 93. When I parked with the nose down, or level, it leaked. When the nose was up a little, no leak. Blew out the drains with compressed air, no more problem. Try a pitcher of water with the sunroof open - the rear moonroof drains come out behind the rear tires, should be real obvious. The front drains appear to go into the rocker panels, then drain out the holes there.

I took the drivers panel out and seems that the water was coming from the big cavity as seen on the picture from DA51. so I sealed it with tar and a piece of plastic. Lets hope it works.
Thanks
