My car's really starting to become a money pit before my eyes...

I went into an import tuner shop today just to check out the price on intercooler kits for my Soarer, but now I've been tempted (once again) by the Volk GT-C's that were sitting up on the wheel rack in their shop... AUD$3800 (USD $2700) for the wheels, 18x8" and 18x9". This is the cheapest price I've seen it as well, doesn't seem like a shady place either, with the amount of cars that was being worked on (Altezza, R34 GTR, Soarer turbo, RPS13 180SX, LanEvo 6, and they were just the cars in the workshop!). Now I want them! grrr... so... I'm wondering what makes you guys buy wheels for this amount of cash? I'm being serious, I need some encouragement to buy these wheels as parting with nearly $4K is hard, especially for a college student!

you can probably get those wheels used in mint condition on supra forums or some place for $2000 w/ new tires or maybe even less if your lucky.

If you can afford it and you want it bad enough, you would eventually get it..Thats how I am with things..Before you know it you'll be building your massive money pit..It begins with one mod and then it's never ending after that...Your vision of the perfect car don't come cheap or easily..Save and buy..

Look at it this way, if you spend money on your car it shows permenantly. Spending money to go out and eat will only keep you happy temporarily. Whatever which way that keeps you happy bro.

It's a choice I've got, if I'm real lucky (and I can sell my current wheels). Oh well, guess where my tax return COULD be going towards (if I'm not owing anything?!)

I can't access the thread on SupraForums $2250 with tyres is a good price, even if it's in US money.

That price that I quoted in Australia doesn't include tyres either Things are so expensive here

I resisted getting high end wheels...thought it was ridiculous. Now that I have them...every time I see the car it's just sooo cool. The looks you get are different. The respect from people who know is unbelievable. Before, I could be next to a Benz or Bimmer and not get props. Now I get props. None of us can say we don't like that. I built my car for me...but it's great that others know the real deal.

This is the way I think too And well, I've had two sets of JDM wheels on my car, the ADR's are a temporary fitment now (although they ride really nicely), but I think I'm gonna hold off on these wheels... gonna get the 97 conversion and a FMIC for about the same price as the GT-C's! After my car's fixed up...
