so now the assesor who came on site said the damge is about $3,500. I'm waiting for his official assesment, that's just what he said, so we'll see
For:
New Fender (My current one was original )
New Hood (was original as well)
New Front Bumper
New Upper reinforcement
New Driver's side Highbeam housing
New Driver's Side lowbeam housing
repaired upper cross brace (where the hood clips into)
Frame time (string of dirty words)
and repainting half the car.
possible new rear quarter panel (bondo queen?)
repair of the spare wheel well
They don't want to total the thing... just peachy.
damn, I need some of his drugs.

well, to give you all an update, I got a call from the assesor today -- he told me not to tow it to a shop. The damage estimate is $8,000 and counting.
Not exactly repairable, methinks.

just to give you guys an update, my insurance company called today -- the car's a total loss.
If someone wants to buy it from me (for my cost of buy-back) and part it out, PM me.

Sorry to hear about your accident. I've been rear-ended before except it was in a Civic so I really didn't care about the damage to the car. It was almost as bad as yours but thankfully there was no car in front of me to be pushed into.
If someone hit my Lexus I don't know what I would do, but you know people are right when they say eventually everything works out for the best in the long run. I hope you find another car soon.
Here's a tip - this is totally counter-intuitive but people don't seem to see RED cars (civic is red - has been hit twice). Plus they fade easily and are hard to paint-match.
Good luck with everything!

I'm sorry to hear about your misfortune...just look at it as a blessing in disguise, You'll end up getting something you'll like more since red SC's weren't your thing. If everyone in the world were great drivers, It would be a happier place! Good luck man!
