Default Disassembling Sideview Mirrors

Ok, I've been trying to take apart the driver's side sideview mirror. The only way I can think of to separate the front and rear sections of the housing is to remove the mirror itself to get at the screws. Is there an easier way? I know there were several people working on installing turning signals in the sideview housing. How to I take this thing apart without damaging the parts???

Mirror is removed by prying CAREFULLY from the bottom. It will pop out. It's hooked into the top and snapped in at the bottom so you can only pry at the bottom.

Then carefully remove the wire to the mirror heater.

Easy.

my Passenger side mirror broke. I tried installing the a new one and cracked it while trying to snap the bottom in.

How do snap the bottom in w/o breaking another mirror?

Press on the point of the mirror that's right over the snaps. If you press anywhere else, you are exerting force on the mirror, instead of transfering it thru the mirror to the snaps. If you want, mark the two spots with a marker on the mirror that are directly over the snaps on the back. Hook the mirror into the housing, and press ONLY on the marks to snap it in.

Good luck.
