going Carbon Fiber crazy!!

Rich: he just wrapped it with CF...basically lay the carbon over your piece and wet it up with resin...definitely the easier way to go than replicating it out of complete CF...
Looks awesome man...too bad my car isn't black, I'd do those mirrors in a heartbeat...

I use Surfboard resin because it a clear, has UV filter, and is easier to work with. this is about $40 a gal. plus Hardener.
Im not going to BS you guys and act like this is a hard process to try and make money Its easy, but Im very good with my hands. Just takes alot of sanding.
The carbon fiber is $50 a linear yard and comes 50" wide.
The resin doesnt start off this smooth. I have to sand it with 180, 320, 600, wet 800, wet 1000 grit. Then clear coat.

To be honest, I've never worked with fiber glass so I dont know it is the same. All I can say is when working with carbon fiber you have to remember to make it look good since you will see it. fiber glass gets painted over.

So this is a dumb question. That means we'd have to send you the item we need covering? If that's the case then what's the turn around time. First thing is I'm still hearing you can't take the wood off the middle a/c vents of a 95 sc. Someone please verify this can be done.

cleansc4 how did you get the middle of the dash pieces off. i had my dash torn apart like 6 months ago putting all the electronics in and my main goal was to replace or change the mid section of the wood trim. i wrapped the doors in black vinyl and wanted to do the same for the middle but couldn't find anyway in hell to get them off. oh and yes i did plenty of searching on the forum but to no avail. any help would be greatly appreciated.
