I have a 1998 SC400 Pearl White with 177k miles and it still runs beautifully. I just bought it yesterday from a traveling salesman in Florida. I had a 1993 SC400 and sold it with 187k miles. The guy I sold it to has 234k now. These cars are unbelievable. I had to buy myself another one.

P.S. Any suggestions as to what needs to be replaced in my car as far as maintenance is concerned? I believe the plugs, air filter, and timing belt were replaced. Oil has been changed on schedule and fluids are at proper levels. I know these cars will run forever but I want to make sure mine does as well.

Your mechanic may have his reasons for saying that (besides the profits from annual fuel filter changes), but that advice contradicts many other posts on this forum that advise that the fuel filter seldom needs changing, if ever.

Thanks for the clarification.

He just did it for me as part of the oil change. I brought in a new fuel filter myself and he said it was okay.

The thing is, my old fuel filter was really dirty. When he took it off the gasoline that came out of it was almost black in color. It should be clear.

1993 SC300, 155k on the car, but 47k on the engine. (Old engine had 151k on it)

And unlike next level, my car has been nothing but problems for the past year that I've owned it. I love it anyway

Edit:

171,000 and still going. (and going and going and going...)

121,000 96 SC300

Everything would be great if it wasn't for this annoying squeak coming from the throw-out bearing after a clutch change.
It would cost about $350 in labor to get rid of the squeak and i'm constantly putting it off.

Must admit that after changing the engine and tranny in a Camaro I only drove for 2 years, a squeak isn't that big a deal.
