i have the exact same one. you gotta lay it on it's side so the side posts are facing the sky.

then you bend the OEM + and - terminals a bit to put it on the original posts.

use 2 pieces of 2x4 to raise the battery up higher.

Clean, which model you have there? I've heard that the 35 is the one we need, is that it?

wow you got it to fit right side up Jose? I had problems with the positive cable not reaching far enough...

I have mine laying on it's side too on some 4x4 pieces...did you have to cut off some tape to be able to pull that positive cable out farther? Oh yeah, I got my lights the other day, thanks!

mteele: Not sure what model it is... There's not many models so I think that's the only "big" one they have... Not exactly sure since I just transferred the Optima over from my other car. Maybe someone else can verify the model. Or maybe later I can just go LOOK at it. I think the hold-down is covering the important info tho.

audi2nr: Sure man just bend away. It's only a few degrees that they need so no problems. Of course you bent them once and back already so be careful. You know what happens when you bend metal back and forth over and over.

Tony: haha yeah it's right side up - how else am I supposed to put it in? I know they are sealed and work any which way but right side up just seems the most natural. hehe. Just a little bend on the cables and they reached fine. It also let me use the side terminals for HID and fog power. I also transfered over the wood base (cut to size, and painted black) from the other car as well. Glad you got the lights okay.

Damn i wish mine would fit like that but i dont think that i can strech my + cable to reach. Plus on that terminal i have my sound system cable attached to it and that definetly doesnt reach. I thought i saw an optima that has the terminals in the position of our normal batteries or something close to it. Anyone think they seen that one?

Note that Czar's battery is installed 180 degrees from the way mine is. That's another option, tho you have to reverse the cable orientation.

Also you might want to tweak that install since you have the hold-down's support angle on top of the battery instead of snugly holding the battery in place on the top edge. Might be dangerous as the battery may move and/or the angle will eventually dig into the plastic and might chew thru the casing.

Either that or you can try making the car positive ground. =)
