Removing the wood trim?
Guys,
I came to the wood trim and I am unsure how to remove the wing-nut looking screws? How do u get them off?? I have read posts about them but I didn't see an explanation for removing them. Alternatively I may just have missed it b/c I have probably inhaled too many paint fumes today!!
Thx,
Jonny

Jonny, the wing nuts have to be undone by hand, i have looked at mine (it's 92 but still) there is also two little screws that go from the bottom of center a/c vent and passenger side vent, make sure you undo those before trying to pull it out, be very gentle, they snap fairly easy

Yeah, the 8mm socket kind of works. It seems like it is moving ( making a noise on my ratchet) but it doesn't physically look like it is going anywhere! I guess I will give it another shot. Thx man.

hey man, i don't mean to burst your bubble, but it seems you're having a hard time doing stuff by yourself. you might want to invest some $$$ into getting one of those lexus books that tell you how to take apart everything for your car. well worth it so you don't have to have like 30+ posts on how to remove center console, or how to remove the door handles.
just a suggestion.

I have torn down many cars to bare metal, specifically Acura Legends. I am not having a hard time - I just have some questions that I don't have the answer to.
I thought the basis of this forum was to ask questions so we didn't need to go out and spend more money than necessary to answer our Lexus problems. I don't want to drop $150 on a book when my good friends here can answer my questions for free.
I think the questions I have asked are not as basic as removing door handles or center consoles. It is just that some of these removal procedures are different to what I am used to. If u have a problem with me creating threads then I will cease doing so.
But thank u for your input.
