Unhappy

I took my driver side interior door panel off to repair a couple of trim pieces. In order to do so I disconnected one electrical plug for both the power window/door lock switch, one plug for the sire mirror control switch, one plug for the memory settings switch, and one plug for the door light.
After finishing what I had to do I put everything back together again. Now my power door lock switches on both driver and passenger sides won't work! I tried using the remote on my key and it does nothing. Also, my memory setting controls do not work anymore. Lastly, my telescopic power steering controls do not work!
What the heck happened!?! Did I blow a fuse? I didn't disconnect the battery when I started, could this be the problem? Did I just cause myself tons of electrical problems???
Pleas help, your advice and guidance is greatly appreciated. I am so darn aggravated and discouraged right now....

Hello,

I took so many cars (including my SC) apart with the battery connected and it never cussed a problem. You may have misconnect the wires or maybe a fuse blow.

Default DITTO...

As Abdul said, it must be connected wrong or a fuse.... Also check the on/off remote switch on the lower panel under the steering column near the trunk/gas switch. This will lock out the remote... (make sure the telescoping power button on the column is on also...)

When I first purchased my car I had these off by mistake and thought I messed something up...

Repeat the process after you check the fuses... Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thanx for the tips - I need still need your input.
I've checked to make sure the connections are right. The plugs are such that they will only connect in a certain orientation and only to their respective male-female plugs, so I can't imagine how I could screw that up. I checked it twice. I also made sure that the remote lockout switch is not activated. The switch for telescopic steering wheel adjustment is on.
For good measure I disconnected the battery last night hoping to reset the system. It was already too dark to check fuses. I will reconnect the battery after I get home from work. If that doesn't help, I'll check for the fuse. The odd thing is, the owners manual says fuse #19 is for the door locks as well as the moonroof and a number of other things. My mmonroof works just fine. Also, the small lights on the door lock switches do light up, so I'm pretty sure power is running there.
Any other ideas?

A list of Gremlins currently experiencing:

When I purchased the vehicle:
*seat memory came with no function
*power mirrors came with no function
*have to manually open the trunk came with no automatic function

Since purchase, had an aftermarket alarm system installed.. however had the
system disconnected to see if that might have been the mystery behind the new problems. No such luck. Starter problem now. Either the solenoid or the starter, checking this Saturday. Already checked, the starter has power running to it. However with a little patience, does start still. Battery cables fine, and cleaned, as well as coated. All fuses are fine, with the exceptions of no power to these two sections when tested: ST HTR (my guess is seat heater) as well as S T <~(no clue what that means). We have in our possession a 1992 LEXUS SC300 OEM FACTORY WIRING DIAGRAM MANUAL,
with a little outside help, will start diagnosing this weekend.

Here's what went wrong a couple of months after purchase:
  • power locks inoperable:have to manually lock or use the key
  • heater memory no more: always resets to off position when starting the vehicle.
  • odometer memory resets
  • power tilt wheel no function: worked perfectly, now not at all.
  • dome light no longer functions
  • rear view mirror on dim no longer functions
  • vanity mirror lights no longer functions
  • cigarette lighter no longer functions/light works fine
  • passenger seat will not go forward automatically
  • however the power seats still slide on tracks no memory
  • vehicle no longer senses when doors are open or ajar

Question Is their a common ecu involved here? perhaps something in the wiring?

Check The Other End Of The Connector In The Driver's Kick Panel To Be Sure It's Not Loose And Make Sure You Didn't Run A Screw Through Any Of The Wires.
