Question cruise control on the blink. argh!!!

Well I have owned the Sc for about 7 weeks now. Got to say the workmanship and drivability is far better than any American Car I have owned. However the cruise control for some reason does not operate. The light for cruise operation comes on but no response out of the cruise controller. Any ideas of what might be the problem?? Took the cover of under the hood and all looks connected. Maybe the cruise control motor is out. hmm. Maybe time for a teardown...

mine recently went on the blink, last two times i have tried it. decided to start working, then stopped again. I am going to check the servo connections on it, if nothing after that i'll check out the slider switch.

Mine is doing the exact same thing ... light comes on .. but the cruise control does nothing.

I changed the servo with one that I bought off eBay that was supposed to be good and it did not fix it.

I have not looked in the repair manual yet to see what to check.

Any ideas?

Try this for an sc300, let me know if its an sc400:
Fig. 4 Total Diagnostic Communication Link (TDCL)

-Turn ignition switch ON.
-Using special service tool No. 09843-18020 or equivalent, connect terminals --Tc and E of TDCL, Fig. 4.
-Read diagnostic code on cruise main indicator light.
-Check for problem in diagnostic code chart, Fig. 5.
-After completing repairs, diagnostic code stored in memory can be cleared by removing DOME fuse for 10 seconds or more.
