I took out the lines in front of the projector and left the rest when I did my E39 bi-xenon retro. That's all you need to do. Delining the whole thing gives it that APC look IMO.

what kind of spray paint should be used to paint the head lights black? im assuming a glossy high tempered black paint would due. But would painting the housing black have any negative affects in terms of lighting performance after all it was initially a silver reflector for redirecting the light.

Use any paint you'd paint plastic with that would be in the sun a lot. Regular body paint is fine. The actual main beam won't suffer from painting the bezel. The marker light and the turn signal will. The marker there's really nothing you can do about so just deal with the fact it will be just a dot now. The turn signal can be fixed by not painting the back side of the reflector. Leave some chrome back there.

Try to go with a flat finish. Gloss black will look cheap and ricey IMO.

I agree with Reggie on this one, I like the lines better, gives the car that lux look. If you bought new headlights you'd be impressed with their clarity and the lines may not bug you so much then Rashed. Just my 2 pennies

Fix your old ones. Mine are originals and look at them after some TLC. (pic in top post on this page)

If you find a REAL nice deal, you could get a new pair for under $600 or so? Not sure, never bought any.

Thats actually very true, I've always wanted to de-line my lenses but after seeing a pair of brand new ones, its just like killing (esshh, strong word) a new born baby...you just cant do it.

Looks really sweet, but is it worth being highbeamed and harassed by the cops as a result of the brightness?
