Turned in the SC400 for an Evo. Sorry to leave the Lexus behind, but the reality is that I needed something more stable and more fun. Having a warranty and such doesn't hurt the case any either. The Evolution is seriously quick, planted wet or dry and exhilarating to drive. I was thinking about the 330Ci, but I realized that I disliked the 330 interior more than the Evo's, and that an Evo is a major improvement over the BMW in terms of performance. The SC interior remains one of my favorite interiors of any car.
Anyway, thanks for all the help and info over the years, and perhaps I'll come back if Toyota gets back into making performance cars again.

wow...long time no see man...i remember a longgg a$$ time ago you gave me a spin in your car at the carson meet...
you should have picked up a SC3 and did a swap...would have costed less than the EVO...i'm actually selling my black one for $18k...
evo & impreza's are great cars...been in both and would have a tough time choosing if i had to buy between the 2...
see ya around buddy!

Great car..all my buddies drive evo's. They are much easier and cheaper to mod then the sti and will walk them. Start playing w/ the various stages and it turns the car into a monster.

Thanks guys. I still have the ECU module too. It's definitely a more involved driving experience. The AWD's grip is just amazing. It's a choice I didn't really want to make, but knowing where the smog laws are headed in this state (especially around here, we have the dyno smogs now) and the fact that the car needed a whole lot of work, I decided that it'd be the best choice.
I didn't really have any credit either, never used a credit card, so getting the loan was a big deal since established credit makes renting and such easier.
For the STi vs. Evo crowd: There were a few reasons. One, if anyone's ever watched Top Gear, you'll know that their pro driver found the STi to be significantly slower around their track than the Evo. Two, during said test and others I've seen, the STi tends to understeer heavily, while an Evo is happy to oversteer for you when it's necessary, without being tail-happy. Three, I feel that more thought has gone into the Mitsu's design. Finally, with 600 bucks in mods my car makes 300 hp now, too
