How should I fill my 2.5 DIN gap?
Guys,
I have asked this question before and have seen how some other people have done it. However, I still cannot come up with a decision.
I need to fill the whole center console area as I have nothing there now but a big hole! I don't have the $$$ to get a flip out DVD screen or anything that cool.
I don't want to pay anyone $200 either to custom build something to fill the gap.
I have been looking at the TV screens etc but I am not sure what exactly u need to do what?
So what would u do to fill the gap? I was thinking about an EQ or something but it would be there to cover the hole, not for practical purposes!!
Peace,
jonny

Buy a piece of black ABS plastic and cut it to form. It'll look plain but at least there won't be a hole.

Jonny, ha ha ha, Brian was just showing you what a spectrum analyzer looks like. Here, I'll put into homie terms for you: Have you ever seen those eq's people have where the lights dance up and down depending on the level of the person's voice, or the decibles, or whatever? Usually these eq's have an lcd screen or some other small screen where you can see the lights dancing up and down in columns (like in OLT's pic's) I have a few friends who installed eq's with spectrum analyzers because the eq's (with the spectrum analyzer) screen was just a little bigger than an average eq and would fill the 2.5 in din perfectly. If you need a pic of one I'll look for it for you. I used to have an Alpine eq with a spectrum analyzer in it and man that thing rocked. It would basically just be a cool little light show on the dash of the car and it'd fill up that gap pefectly...but they cost much more than a piece of ABS. Like a couple of hundred brand new, someone in the audio/video classifieds may have a used one.
