Default Anyone pulled their cigarette lighter apart?

Guys,

Here is what I am thinking!!

Basically getting rid of the front of the ashtray, the moving cover I guess it is. Then dremmeling most of the plastic away and it looks like the XM box would fit in perfectly. Because of the shape of the XM box it cannot just go in the gap between the stereo and the ashtray, so this is the only viable way.

Obviously you would make it flush but this is the general idea.

What do u guys think?

Peace,
Jonny

ditch the skifi, I had it, it's a great unit, but the commander is much smaller and compact and works just as well.

Is heat gonna be a problem? I noticed that after I've been driving a while, the removable ashtray gets pretty warm. I was also thinking of either (1) getting XM or SIRIUS and maybe installing it in there (like you are doing and like what anthracitetarga did), or (2) removing the removable part of the ashtray and lining the inside of the "hole" with some soft material so I can put my mini iPod in there w/ the iTrip. I'm just afraid of getting my iPod too hot and frying it..LoL Maybe I could line it with insulator first? any ideas?
