Anyone have GS wheels on SC400?

I know this may sound silly but did you look to see what they may be rubbing against? Seems kinda weird that a 16" wheel would be rubbing on anything at all...

and make sure your e-brake isn't engaged big dawg, hey...I know what you're gonna say, but I'm just going down the line to see what I "think" it could be
sometimes the answer to our problems is so obvious we overlook it.

Here is a CL member's SC with newer style GS 16" wheels from a recent meet (hope he doesn't mind me posting them, thought they looked pretty good on the SC!).

Dave, I don't think Jonny needs pics...he wants to run questions by someone who has 16" GS wheels on their SC. But somehow I don't think that will help him either...something else is causing the obstruction, not the wheel size, especially not 16's...

Yeah realize that. I've PMd the owner of that car hoping he'll chime in to see if he has obstruction issues too. I think you're right though, something else is at issue.

By "turning" you mean rotating/spinning the wheels right? Not "turning" the steering wheel.
Is the car on a lift with the wheels hanging or the type where you drive onto? If the wheels are hanging they may be touching the shock/springs.

probably his brakes binding up..
Johnny change your pads, resurface your rotors and make sure u don't have a sticky caliper... IF this wasn;t done recently its a good ideas since your car is already up on a lift..

Guys,
I don't know how people are with using first names on here so I will use your screenames - sorry to be so impersonal!
MIke - Yeah, I am guessing there is something rubbing - not sure what.
OLT - Nice pics man JK!!
Aerostar - yeah, I am unsure. I pulled 18's off and replaced them with 16's and now I have rubbing!! Weird!!
MIke - yeah, ebrake is not on!! But u r right, sometimes it is the small things!
Dave - thx man,
SC300ES - yeah, I mean the actual tires turning, not steering wheel. The car is up on jackstands, not an actual lift!
BLKtiger - I just had my rotors and brake pads replaced less than 3 months ago.
BabyM3 - that is what I thought
Well I will look into it some more guys. Thx for all your input.
Peace,
Jonny

Dang! This IS weird dude...I'm racking my brain trying to think of what it could be but I'm at a loss...what the hell? All I can think is to "get dirty" and see what it's rubbing against...maybe your fender lining is sagging or something? Maybe some road debris bounced in there and is causing an obstruction? All you can do is inspect the hell out of it...or take it to one of those places that do free brake inspections and see if they can detect anything. I really want to know what's causing this issue now. 16's shouldn't rub on a damn thing...no matter what!

Hehe - A guy goes away for a few days and returns to see his car plastered all over CL..
What's not to love about that?
Anyway - As you can see, I am a huge fan of the GS stock wheels on the SC. (I keep asking myself why they didn't choose these as the stock SC wheels!)
Dx3 - I have the 16" noted above on the 300 and the GS 17" alloys on my 400 and have no rubbing problem with either. Something is definitely amiss if you are rubbing and it's not related to wheel size.
In fact the guy I bought my 400 from was running this set up for a while with no rubbing. The fronts are 18x9.5 (+50mm offset) with 265/35s
Good Luck - and you have to let us know what you find out...
