Question Think my seats are loose

I've just noticed my seats feel loose, like they are not bolted in all the way. When I make a hard stop the back end of my driver seat comes up about a centimeter, and I think the back rest comes a little forward too. Then the car bounces back from the stop and my seat falls back in place.

Does anyone else have this on hard stops. I don't want to go undoing my seats to fix normal wear and tear. I'm not sure if this is new or has always been with the car.

My seats do that too, I just need to get in there and tighten the bolts. Hey Rich, help him out a little and tell him where the bolts are! (it'd help me too!) lol

I think I read there are 4 in front and 4 in the back, is that true? I also need to do something about my passenger seat because it's loud when moving back and forth, like the track isn't lubed up enough or something...

it might be the bolts, but it also can be a metal guide that is off the track. The guide looks like a small dumbbell. It if goes off the track, you will get some movement on the track.

Guys,

Yes, there are 4 bolts in front and 4 in the back. I do not recall what size they are however. Maybe 16mm. Start by moving the seat all the way back. You have to pry the plastic covers off first - go easy because they like to break. Then, tighten and then move the seat all the way forward. You need to have it all the way because of lack of room. Also, I believe that the rear bolts are on a slight angle so u will either need an extension or a universal bit that swivels.

If I am remembering correctly - the rear bolts closest to the center are different - I think they may go horizontally in to the center hump.

I am sorry that I cannot be anymore help - it has been several weeks and I have removed a million bolts since then. If you have trouble let me know and I will go out to the garage and gather up the necessary info.

Good luck guys,
Jonny

OK I checked the bolts holding down the track and they are all tight. The seat looks like it is right on the rails, but something else is still loose. I think it is loose at the point where the rail sliders connect to the seat bottom. Did anyone else get further?

Also the seat back, rocks back and forth half an inch. Is this just normal on an 11 year old car?

I'll check it in the morning with more light.
Thanks for the input

Guys its not the floor bolts that are loose. Its the bolts holding the seat back on that is loose. Kind of a pain in the *** but definitely doable. Ill see if i can get some information on doing it from a friend that had a similar problem. If for whatever reason i forget to reply, drop me a pm to remind me.
