My '92 SC400 has the same slow shifts. I believe this is normal. Part of the whole luxury tuning. It would be great if the shift pattern could be changed as easily as hooking up an after market computer to the ECU. sigh.

PlayBOy, I don't have an upgraded ECU. They sound pricey ($2000 ?) for the performance payoff unless you go to forced induction and have to do a lot a changes.

GM tech. centre has a nice little unit that you can hook up to the car's ECU from inside the car. It well let you change shift points and duration, and pretty well everything else (timing, rev. limit...). A friend with an F-body was driving around while his co-worker was holding/shifting gears for him. Neat stuff. This is what I meant by "aftermarket computer for the ECU."
