Default Fixed some stuff on the Lex, now I need some suggestions

I just fixed some of the minor problems on my newly purchased Lexus. Had to do the oven trick , and took apart the headlight to rid it of condensation (Thank god for these forums, They are great!) Hopefully they dont get any moisture inside. Although someone had already attempted this with JB weld and was unsuccessful. Hopefully I fixed them this time around. I also found I had a blown fuse, so I replaced that, and my horn and hazards work again..

The speedometer needle is flickering, and one of the backlight bulbs are out so Lextech will definitely be hearing from me The power steering is leaking. I need new tires for the rear also. Can someone suggest a good tire for me to purchase? Other than that, the car just needs some new struts for the trunk. Does anyone know of an alternate place to order the struts, or do I have to order them from Lexus? How much are they by the way?

Well, so far I am really impressed with the car. Very small problems for a 12 year old car, and easily fixed. It's very comfortable and the ride is smooth, and still performs great . I got it for a good price and I am thoroughly satisfied. Don't think I will ever drive a FWD again either. Can't wait till I can afford boost .

During the summer i use Toyo Proxie T1S's..a little on the high side but some of the best tires around...for winter (michigan) i have the blizzaks...which cost just about as much as the toyo's... for the struts try www.parts.com and the trunk struts should not be that expensive...and there are threads for replacement ideas..if you do a search...hope that helps...

Regarding trunk shocks...I replaced mine about 2 months ago with a part I think called mighty-lift. Dont quote me on it, but I got them from O'Riely's and together I think it was something like 24$. As opposed to the 40 something that lexus wants for one of them. Anyways once you get the parts, there is a thread somewhere in here that has pictures and is a great walkthrough. It took me about 30 minutes to have them both done.

I used Strong Arm brans trunk shocks and they work good as well. And its not very hard to do at all, I just followed the instructions on the package.

There is also an auction site that sells them for pretty cheap

Thanks for the info guys. I think I'll go to a local auto parts store and get some. Shouldn't be too much trouble. Now I just need to fix that damn window regulator.
