Default Looking at an SC400 for a Daly Driver for a year or so..

I just typed a whole post out and I'm on this damn thinkpad with internet browser forward and back commands on the keys and I lost the whole post, so in anger I'm going to type a shortened version out..

1. I'm looking at SC400 coupes, I sold my car for 10k and I'm looking to get a SC400 for a year or so till I get a job and can finance a newer car, my car's going tommorrow to the new owner, getting 10k cash, going to look at 2 SC400's locally, one 93 and one 95, both with 140k. Is this a decent car to get into for a year or so to have a reliable daily driver? still get good mpg and have some fun with? Living in Los angeles, I'd like somehting I wont have a problem getting into and driving out to vegas without worrying about being left in the desert with no cell phone coverage.

2. What is the differences in 93-95 years, anything signifcant change, most of the changes externally are 97 and up from my research.

3. What should I look out for mechanically, service wise, and exterior wise, what things should be done or have to be done for a car around that age, both of these people claim the cars arent their DD and are like their 3rd or 4th car(one guy having 4 lexus's), so the cars should be clean so I'm just worried about what mechannicaly can/will go wrong down the road..

4. Any problems adding or hardwiring in a garmin portable streetpilot GPS? I think I'd prefer getting another garmin and running it when I need to versus having a custom screen installed.. would like to see

Thanks in advance.

1) Gas mileage is decent (20-22 mpg freeway). It's a reliable daily driver and shouldn't leave you staranded. Make sure the proper maintenance (Timing belt, water pump) was done at least once. Check for the usual: water bubbles on dipstick(if you see bubbles after the car has been running for a bit, wait a few seconds....those are air bubbles and should disappear), weird colored smoke from exhaust, etc..

2) tail lights are different in 93 and 95, otherwise the cars look pretty much identical.

3) If you're only looking to DD it for a year then don't worry much about fixing it up.

4) Shouldn't be a problem at all.

Good luck.
