Question How much to reupolster the leather?

I'm ckecing out a couple SC300s today, and one of them advertised that the leather is in "pretty good" condition....which has me guessing that there are some flaws. I was wondering if anyone has had their leather reupolstered in their SC300...or if anyone knows how much it would cost. How much for just the ront two seats? How much for the entire interior? I called my local Lexus dealer service department, but all I got was the answering machine...

Also, here an opinion question....IF I were to reupolster (the car I'm talking about is White w/ tan interior)...should I change the interior to black leather? Or stay with the tan? Just wanted to know your guys opinions....

You should check out our forum sponsor www.leatherseats.com I think its much more cost effective than the dealer re-doing it. We had a group buy not long ago. The 1st gen GS guys are trying to get enough to do it again, you might want to see if the vendor will allow an SC who wants to do it to count towards the 10 people they need to do the GB.

Changing to the black interior will require a lot of work. It's not just the leather you'll have to change, You'll also want to change the carpet, headliner, door trim pieces, seat trim pieces, sunvisors, steering wheel, dash, and center console among other things. It's not exactly an easy swap. Usually best to just replace the worn leather seat covers if they bother you, anything else and your project will become extremely pricey and time consuming. Do a search (using the search field at the upper left of the screen) and you can read threads by other members who have done interior swaps, that way you can guage whether or not you're up to the task. Good luck

Thanks for the tips guys -

DaveGS4 - I will definitly keep that in mind...I'll see if I can get in on the GB

mikeloc24 - thanks for the info...I think I might just do a replacement, instead of the whole interior swap. As you said, too much money and too much time
