Default What do you think of rear window chrome trim?

I saw these pics on an auction...(which I think was a little over priced for what you were getting...), and I was thinking of maybe trying a DIY of this. Basically, just adding the same chrome trimming that goes around the door & side windows to the back window. Minor mod, but I kinda think it looks pretty nice...what do you all think? Yes? No? Has anyone done this?

i haven't seen the one about the rear trim, but i do remember one about the pillar trim on the door.

The color of the car would make a big difference. On your's, i'd probably rock it, on mine, no way.

i dont really like it, i dont really even like the chrome trim around the windows
i think they have black trim on jdm versions right?
i want to either paint my chrome black ( body shop said it would eventually peel ) or i want to replace my trim with black.. can't stand looking at the chrome

id rather have some nice dark tints and black trim which is what im going for.

anybody know about painting over chrome? i know its not suggested.. but is there anything i can put on top of the chrome and then paint over that? so the paint would adhere better?

Just sand it first to roughen up the surface to provide some mechanical adhesion. 600 grit should work fine.

I'm not in favor of adding chrome anything to these cars, they already have too much chrome on them for my tastes. Chrome trim can easily become tacky if the person gets too overzealous with it. Be careful.

I would rather have the chrome trim powder coated black.
