Tokico & Eibachs cause subframe damage?

check out this thread:

Is this really true? Are our SCs that sensitive to stress from aftermarket shocks & springs?
I currently have a strut tower brace, but am planning on going to 17" wheels along w/ Tokico shocks (keeping oem spring for ride comfort), should I be worried of causing damage b/c of these mods??

I seriosly doubt that the SC subframe is that weak that putting on lowering springs and aftermarket struts would cause any stress that would cause damage like that. This could have been an isolated case for that particular car. IMO I think the SC is a very stable and well handling car, it is definitely not a noodle, my 89 5.0 mustang was a noodle!!! Remeber, the suspension is made to push down against the surface and the SC is a fully independent suspensioned car, which would inherently flex less than a live axled car (mustang for example). If you are worried alot about it though, I am sure you could get someone to weld in some sub frame connectors, ofcorse this would be a custom job but it would be a good idea and a good project, hehe

no no problems really but your alignment bolts have to be really REALLY tight...somehow the cam settup tends to loosen up and break the aluminum piece shown in that thread, but common don't let that hold you from upgrading your lex.
