Default Age of SC Owners

I have a white, 1999, SC400, and a grandchild in elementary school! That puts up there, almost 50, in the company of the other owners.

Default age

I wasn't gonna post but seeing a few guys in my age bracket encouraged me. I don't have a problem being 46, I just don't care about those things. WHen I was a kid (17 to 25), I hung around with older people. Heck, I had a girlfirnd one year older than my mom....and lots close to her age. After I turned 30, I went for young ladies. My wife is 10 years my junior. Keeps me young....so does the platinumsc!

Default Wished for a miracle, then my SC came true!

Once a gearhead, always a gearhead! Registered new to this forum just to count my vote on this age survey! Very interesting across-the-board profile. Good to see so many young guys taking pride in their cars. At 50 plus, I am one of the most recent SC owners (2000 model) purchased six months ago.

Grew up and worked my way through school in the auto repair and paint business. Have had several drag racing street cars (Fords and Chevys) when young and migrated to sports cars. Then married and raised three kids driving family type vehicles with always at least one performance/luxury car in the mix.

When I saw my first Lexus SC in early nineties, I was enthralled by its beauty and grace. Having driven so many exotic cars through the years in the car business, the SC has all the sleek lines of rare classics I had the opportunity to work on. Could not afford an SC though, but have admired the SC ever since. Then this year, one of those chance moments that come along when I had the random opportunity to pick up what I refer to as my "bordello pearl" beauty -- garage kept, absolutely like brand new inside and out with low mileage -- It took me less than one minute to make the decision to write the check!

It is rewarding to see so many others have an appreciation for a vehicle with "classic beauty" and precision engineering. I've purchased all the manuals and tracking your repair experiences. This SC is a keeper for me -- and I expect in thirty years "we" will be one of those rare car classics still roaming the streets!

Good Lexus Luck to all you young gearheads!

Default Great First Post!

What a great first post Lexcalibre! I couldn't agree more with your sentiments regarding the classic and timeless beauty of these cars. Rarely do I see another car that I would rather have - and certainly none exists in this price range. I am absolutely convinced the SC300/400 are undervalued on the used market .

I can't help but believe the SC300/400's will be continue to be sought after and should become collectible classics.

I am 67 but there is not a place in the poll to put it.

This was a long time ago, I am now 73. My 95 SC400 now has about 65,000 miles on it!

LOL there's a gap between 60 and 70! I guess you don't actually exist, khark.

At least I'm not the oldest owner on here. So many whippersnappers on this board.

Unhappy Feeling left out

I would have liked to participate in this poll but what happened to the 60-70 age group?? I'm 67 and have owned many cars over the years but never one as good as my 98 SC-400.
