Porsche 944's can be had for surprisingly little money, especially the late 80's ones. I bought my Lexus for $10,300 cash from a private seller, and that's actually a bit high for this model year, because the car was in such incredibly good condition (and because resale around here is somewhat higher than national average).

The most i get is "what kind of car is that". I do get "what yr is that", but not as much. Yea i also get the "how fast is it", "what size engine u have", "I love your car" (not a question), but becomes a question "what kind of car is that". People are suprise at the yr of my car (93) and the make of my car.

I have a few, that have made my eye brow go up? 
"Where does the top go?" thinking its a convertible.
"Thats Rear Wheel Drive?"
"Did you swap a SR20 into it?" Kid was driving a Barretta GT (He also told me that his Barretta was a great "drift car" using the E-brake around corners.)

as everyone has experienced, i also get what year is that? and then, oh wow its really that old? i also get damn you drive a lexus? and questions on peoples minds that gimmi the blank stare are: what kinda car is that? and as soon as i glance at them, they glance away. this is a nice thread
