I usually ask them "betcha can't guess what year this is" before they can ask me heh.

Honestly though, I can't tell you how many times people ask me if I have a "2J" and whan I answer yes, they freak out saying I have a "Supra motor." Even better is the confusion on their face when I say I'm going to swap in a 1J that has .5L less displacement....

I always get "what kind of exhaust is that?" on my SC400, then they proceed to say "sure doesn't sound like a Lexus!" In a good way

No 1 Question I get asked is what year is that?
No 2 Question is Did I special order it to get manual? I wasn't old enough to drive when my car came out lol

The stock SC in fact looks kinda boring ...

 

I get the "what year" question alot, and now that i blacked out all my badges, i get asked
"what kinda car is that anyway"
Then, "is it a manual"
Then from people who know a little bit about it, "does it have the 2j?"


MY ALL TIME FAVORIT: i was at a gas station fillin up mid trip from just buying my car from the next state over, and this guy in this pickup truck asks me:

"Is that a chevy?" i almost shat myself
I respond: "Not exactly...." lool
