How does your SC run in the snow?
#31
New Yokahamas stood the test!
Only issues are up and down ramps that slope too much...it get's a little sketchy...but other than that my SC4 is much better this year in snow with Yokahama Avid V4s than last year with the crappy Goodyear GT+'s! Like it's been said...slow down, stay in control and don't tweek the steering wheel, gas or breaks too much/drastic and you are fine! But even still, once in a while I get that heart skipping a beat feeling...lol.

Here is California, we're allowed (mandated actually) to use chains if we're not in a 4wd w/snow tires.
I'm planning to head up to some snow for the first time in the SC this Saturday.
My TT rims are coming in tomorrow, so that's what's gonna be on the car when I go.
It hasn't snowed in a little while, so I'm hoping for good road conditions.

Has anyone ever used chains on an SC?
I'm asking because I know almost everyone has their SC dropped about an inch and I dunno if chains would clear.
Anyone?

Ah the snow... driving in it's not so bad, just dont try to make turns. It's the other drivers that I worry about. I would definantly have to say that the sc is funner in the snow though in comparsion to my mom's town car, It was easier to do donughts in the drive way. hehe. Just the insane ammounts of sand on the road make washing the car completely useless and dings up the paint. Do they really need to lay down a quarter inch of gravel on all the roads up here?

I had a salt spreader drive by me the other day and i thought i was getting shot at cuz the rock salt was being shot out like a cannon by the salt spreader.
Edit:

I freed it up a little around the doors on sunday. By monday night, that's how it looked.
I'm just gonna let the snow melt a little bit before I break my back.

I'm outside of Cleveland, and we see a lot of snow. Snow tires make all the difference in the world.. I do a lot of driving on backroads and freeways, and while its not great in the snow and ice the car is very competent and I haven't had any "oh sh_ts" like I used to have in my truck .
I'm running Goodyear GW3 snowtires 225/55-16, and a set of 4 is less than my insurance deductible so it was a no-brainer to put them on..
