Default I'm tired of that same response!

Im a 22 year old college student A couple months ago i got a 93 sc400. As all of you know any sc is a bad *** car. However, whenever people ask what i drive and I say a Lexus their face lights up like DAMN. Then what question is next? What year is it. When i tell them 93 they get this disappointed look like they feel sorry for me. What the hell? I would take my 93 over most of these other college student's 2001 Mazda or Chevy whatevers

Alot of people dont fully comprehend the timeless design of the SC3/400. Its a design that held its own in the Luxury Coupe market for 8 years or so.

Also, most people dont understand that a SC with 150k miles is just getting broken in!

The only issue with these cars that I can see is that as time goes on, little things break. If your in a real bind, little things can add up quickly to be BIG things- so go ot180 and make sure your PS pump is not leaking onto your alternator!!!!

haha. Its already been changed. I only have 78k miles. I have already done most of the things that happen. My PS pump went out, door trim cracked, center AC vents cracked, trunk shocks went out, the usual. It still amazes me this car (not mine, in general) came out in 1992.

Don't let em get to ya. Your 12 y/o SC will out last most of their new cars. Besides, if you're happy with it, that's the only thing that counts.

I can afford to buy a new car like a G35 but I'd still rather cruise the SC.

Haha, I get the same response. Then when they do know its a '93, they're like.... "oh". I guess you just have to show them it's still a very new looking car.

Then there's the other side of this response. You know, when someone sees your car before they know what year it is, and they say or think something like, "Holy crap, how does he/she afford that?!", then you respond with a and say, "It's only a 93. . ."

I just went on a 4 hour party trip in my Lex this weekend with some buddies, and they were all impressed, as were the girls at the bars/clubs . Now I didn't get this car to impress people. But as you all know, it's a good feeling to know that, in many cases, you spent half as much on the Lex as your friends did on their truck.

On another note, I don't like it when people respond rudely after I answer to "what kind of car do you drive," so I make sure to follow-up with "it's only a '95." Then they see the car and are shocked!

Don't let em get to ya man, wait til you roll by them in the parking lot.

I helped Khaos do his suspension install on his 92 SC3, and his 92 looked better than any other 1992 model car I have ever scene! The changes among the years (minus the 97+ front and sides) are so small, that it is difficult for people to figure out the true age of our cars.
