i think the people who work at sears are just ignorant in general. ive never spoken with an even remotely knowledgeable person there. one guy didnt nkow what heatshrink was

Sounds like one guy that I ran into at a local mechanic. Turns out this kid was working there in the summers, sweeping the floors and doing general cleanup work arround the place. My fiance's parents were using my SC400 for a couple of weeks, and I had their Porsche 911 Carrera. (Not a bad short term trade.) The kid came over to look at the blue convertible and saw the rear "911" badge. The first question out of him was "Is this the commemorative edtition?" Thinking that this kid had some semblance of a clue I told him that it was a 911 Carrera. He then wanted to know why 911 didn't stand for September 11 th 2001. I just laughed. (what else could you do?) The mechanic told him to get back to work .

 

some people are just clueless. i had someone ask me what an oreo was. how the hell do you not know what an oreo is. i work at circuit city in car stereo . you would be supprised at the stuff people ask there. i had a guy ask me how many watts a cd changer had. i didn't know what to say

 

Once had a bunch of high school girls walk by my car. One of them saw the "L" emblem on the nose. I could hear her as she walked by: "Oooh, look a Lamborghini". I turned my head to see if a Lambo was really around then I realised she was talking about my car...

On that note, my mom thinks each company only makes one car. She get all discombobulated when told otherwise. She can't understand that there are other models of Lexus vehicles. She thinks they are all older or newer versions of my car. For example, she'll ask what car that is, and I'll say that's a Lexus IS300. Her response is/has/will be "but you're car is Lexus. It doesn't look anything like that one..." By the end of our conversation we both look like this...

this reminds me of a time i went to buy tires at sears and the guy at the counter of the tire section argued with me for 15 im not joking 15 mins that my car was front wheel drive ..... he even went as far as to look under the car and have a "mechanic" there come look at it ..... they both then told me my car was fwd.... i then left with out saying another word.... bought my tires elsewhere

 

if you threw it sideways leaving the parking lot, i bet they would have thought you pulled the e-break!! i cant believe some people. i actually had someone ask me if my car was a celica... i was outraged!!!!!! he saw the supra wheels with the toyota marque, and aparently missed all the "L" and "LEXUS" emblems. i almost got out and strangled him. instead, i just waited till he was mid sentance and drove off.

im pretty sure that if a good looking girl told me that she drove an SC300 i would just look at her. i dont think i would be able to say anything... i would be overwelmed! i have no idea what you look like, but im optomistic. nothing is better than a good looking woman with a sweet car!

 

hehe, but a look of overwelm-ment is one wayy different than one of absolutely nothing... never saw a more blank stare...

 

It was at that moment that he realized in his haste to make it to work on time that day that he forgot his brains at home! ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

Next time tell them your car is a Peugeot....that'll learn 'em!

 

I also got pissed of when of my girlfriends relative says "Nice Hondita!!"(with heavy spanish accent).
I was like WTF. I asked him what Honda he thought it was ...Guess what he said? A FREAKIN DEL SOL. I stood there for a minute and thought "hey the damn DelSol does have 4 lights up front so I kind of didn't blame him. Oh...I also hate when my ignorant pals think my car is FWD so of course I do a smokey an ask them what tires they see smokin"

I guess it does resemble the SC a little

 

that del slow resembles my friends that he used to have... except with a different kit. other than size, our cars looked simmilar together at night. but to anyone with half a brain, they are completely different at any other angle than the front.
