Default Vertex and Espelir...

Hi boys and girls,

I've always loved the Vertex bodykit for the Soarer, and I'm real keen on getting it now. Only thing is I've also got Espelir ASD springs on and from what I hear the Vertex kit sits about 1 inch lower than the factory front lip... which will leave me about 1.5~2" (if lucky) of ground clearance.

I'm just wondering the following...
1. Does anyone have Espelir springs AND a bodykit (Vertex or similar)? Having any problems with your bodykits (major scraping etc)?
2. The cost of the Vertex full kit is gonna cost the same price as coilovers (just about... for the TEIN Super Street) would you guys recommend getting the kit or coilovers first? I really like the ride of the Espelirs though... very smoooooth.
3. One idea I've been having is either going Vertex bodykit or go for the 97 full conversion... BUT, the 97 conversion will cost around double the price

Suggestions?

Cheers

Jose

if you going to go with vertex, please get the original and not the replica.. very big difference.
if you are not going with the vertex original, i say 100% just for 97 conversion and a slammmmm

I'd go for a 97 front end conversion if I were you. Eventually you will mess the Vertex up with the Espelirs on there...

oh ok, and even with the vertex original the 97+ conversion will cost double the price?
what prices do you have for vertex vs 97+ conversion?

before i hopped on the ac groupbuy, i was considering the vertex as well as the 97+ conversion.
some prices that i found where:

vertex kit: $2150, grille, fogs, lower door mouldings, and tails $850, total approx. $3000
97+ conversion: bumpers & skirts: $1200, grille, fogs, lower door mouldings and tails $850, total approx. $2050.

did you mean to say that option vertex would cost double than 97+ conversion, or did you mean it when you said 97+ conversion would cost double than vertex? There are some parts that I am missing from 97+ conversion, but these are the main ones.

I am not doubting you, as you have your own sources for products, therefore your own price, i am just curious..

Hey dude,

nah it's cool I understand where ya coming from

The Vertex kit would cost cheaper than the whole 97 conversion (sorry, I forgot to add the foglights, grille and taillights in there)... there are copied kits here too in Australia, I was thinking about this but then as everyone says you get what you pay for... so I've decided against that (so yes, once I get some cash for a new set of wheels I'm paying up for them too... geez here we go.. lol)... a little breakdown of the 97 part prices here in Australia...

From one of the ONLY Toyota dealers that will cater for personal imports (ie. Soarer, Supra, Sera, Hilux Surf (4Runner) etc)...

Front bumper cover... $600 supplied
Grille... $230
Foglights (L/R)... $540 (!!!!)
Rocker panels (L/R)... $520
Door mouldings (L/R)... $340

That's just the basics for the front clip and side skirts damn tax

You gotta feel for us Aussies... we get ripped for parts

Heheh thanks for the sympathy hehehhe

Yeah, take for example the price of the front bumper... it costs $600AUD, which is around $460USD, so we still get ripped compared to how much you guys get it over there for...

hrmm... wonder if it's worth buying it from the USA and shipping it to Australia?

If you have everything shipped together from somewhere like Carson, I'm sure it will be cheaper for you!

how about this kit then? the company is in australia.. and costs about $1000 australian.
it doesn't require much of the 97+ parts either.. it uses 92-96 fogs and no grille insert.
