Default I found the color I want to paint the SC! Opinions?

Was at the Old Town meet this past weekend, and saw one of the IS300's with a color that I just loved. I think that the color is Cibola Gold Metallic (585), and evidently its a rare color. It was the only IS300 there with the color, and after going through every IS on Car Domain, I only saw one more. Attached is a pic. I like the color since it wont require me repainting my engine bay and those types of spots. What do you guys think?

Well if you had my color car, and was getting a paint job, would you stay with the factory Sandstone Mica:

OR go with this color? Another possibility is the Top Secret gold color, but im not sure how that would match the engine bay etc.

Blech . But hey it's your car and you have a right to paint it whatever color you want - It would definately be unique. That color would look good on a FJ-40 Landcruiser or the like IMHO.

I would say go with a darker tan/gold color rather than lighter. Just remember, nothings gonna match your engine bay/door sills/etc perfectly, so either go with a nice looking tan or shell out the extra cash and get it painted black.

PS. Clean those headlights!!

PSS. Top Secret Gold is VERY hard to get your hands on, they mix it in their shop and send it to you, and its up to them who gets it.

Yeah man,

What color is it so we don't stray too far from it? I love the Anthracite color Supra but I am guessing that isn't close to your car color!!

But regardless, it is your car man and you should do what makes you happy. Don't worry about everyone else.

Peace,
Jonny

Mteele - I am in the same position as you (Sandstone Mica represent!!). Colors that I have been thinking about are Desert Silver(?) - Acura RSX and Silver Moss - 97 -98 240SX.

His car is (gold) sandstone mica. I say you should stick with the stock color, with a little modification, it can look pretty nice. ie: manaray's sc

My car is Sandstone Mica (picture of it in the gallery). I wanted to avoid getting the engine bay resprayed if I could, and I saw this IS this weekend and thought it might match the engine bay, inside the trunk, etc. well.

Something else I could do it just take the factory color and modify it a little bit? Metal flake, more pearl, something like that? I dunno, I'm not a paint guy
