hey guys i'm new on this forum....i currently have a 97 m3 and am looking for a commuter car. i'm looking into the 92-93 sc300/400.....some people have told me the car is a dream and others have told me its a pos in lexus clothing as far as maintenance goes. if i go for this(i'm looking at 100k+ mileage) do you think i'm going to run into major problems? i only plan to keep the car for about a year at most 2..... thanks for the help

if you are looking for 100+ mileage sc400. Spare at least $2500 for repair and maintenance.

Below are some problems that you are very likely to encounter.

1. Terrible leather condition. The leather on old sc400 doesn't last very long.
2. Power Pump leaking.
3. The speedmeter needle light goes dead.
4. Battery.
5. Suspension may have a problem. Be sure to check the struts.
6. Brakes pad and discs.

I used to have 110k miles sc400. I bought it at around 100k and shortly after the car had all the problems above.

So before you buy the car, be sure to negotiate down the price factoring in this issue.
