My local Toyota/Lexus dealer, Sydney City Lexus (one of the biggest ones in East Sydney) refuse to service my car and order parts for me...
I go to a Soarer specialist (the first guys to import them over to Australia... they also have a 350Z that they're using in GT racing), he's been looking after me for the last 3 years (ever since I took it their for my first service).

It's certainly true that what you pay is what you get.
After I paid $1200 for the full timing belt package at a Lexus dealer I took my car to a local Toyota dealership for the 60K service so to save some bucks. That was a big mistake.
The morons there didn't do it right. They overfilled the transmission fluid and caused the car to make a loud noise (too much pressure) when I shift the gears. I had to take it back twice for them to fill it with the proper amount of fluid.
Furthermore I found the "advisor" who wrote up the paperwork dishonest. He told me the radiator flush job cost $120. When I later asked to skip it he only took $100 off the total bill because "it was a service discount" bs. The waiting room was crowded and nobody gave a damn about "service" courtesy.
Based on my experience I would gladly pay Lexus and get the exclusive service. It's like shopping at Neiman Marcus vs. Kmart if you will.

Sorry, but not every time; after a $4,000 trip to the Lexus dealer here in Seattle(Lynnwood), the morons messed up the work and did some very questionable things with the car while it was in their hands.

hmm...well, I've brought my 95 SC4 to both Toyota and Lexus dealerships, and I must say, price is the only thing that really was different.....
When I first got my car (back in Nov. 04), I brough it in to the Lexus dealership to do their pre-owned certification inspection (what they do when they certify their re-owned cars). And I told them to do an oil change while they were at it (I brough my own Mobile 1 oil) - the oil change they charged me $45!!! Which was a total waste of money....but they did keep my car overnight (for the inspection), and I got to cruise around in a '05 RX330...that was cool ...and they had a cappucino machine...heehee
Just a few weeks ago, I brought the SC into the local Toyota dealership to do another oil change (I know...I should do my own, and I will, once I move into my new house...) and again, I brought my own oil, and they only charged me like $22-$23. Much more reasonable. But they only had a coffee machine...
But call around...cuz I called two different Lex dealers for the same part, just to get a price quote, and they had totally different prices...one guy said $35, the other was like "oh, it's about $60 or so"...what a jerk...
BTW - not to get off topic, but those of u with high miles, when did u change T-belt / water pump? I know mike said he did his at 130K...but just wondering if everyone waited that long...I'm just about at 90K (defintly within a month or two), so I know I still have some life left in it, but just wondering about how much life left TIA
