E39 is a BMW Code...we retro-fit the BMW projectors into our SC Headlights...thus we call it a E39 Conversion because that is the E39 Model BMW that the projector came off of.

I vote for HIDs too.

Both option will be "better" than OEM but HIDs will be functionally better, too.

HID is the way to GO! But you can do both with a little more money. ($550-600)
I have a 99 sc400 w/6000k hid & three spoke wood/leather steering wheel.
It will look good!

Go HID. The new steering wheel will be good to look at, but the HIDs are better for safety. There are a lot of different opinions on HIDs, so do your research.

Ted, in all honesty this is what I'd do in your shoes. I'd buy an HID kit from rscott (fellow CL member) for about $400 and I'd buy a leather steering wheel cover from Wheelskinz.com for about $40 and call it a day. Nice newish thicker steering wheel still with the leather feel (I'm not big into wood steering wheels, slick surfaces and hand sweat aren't a good combo when steering a car) and real HID's for under $450...can't beat that

Mike,

Do you know what rscott sells you in the kit? Also, is it DIY? I'm just curious, I never heard of his kit or anything to that effect.

Oh and where would I be if I didn't comment on the thread... HID upgrade all the way!

Default Thanks again everyone

Thanks again for all of your votes, fellow CL members!
It is so clear that HID is the winner.

Mike,
Do you know exactly what rscott has? I am interested. I already sent him a PM.
Let me know when you guys meet next time.

OK. I am in the market for the HID kit. Please post it on my WTB thread in Classified field.
Thank you.
